A Learning Environment That Inspires Learners Through Collaboration and Discovery

We are pleased to introduce you to Yuma Elementary District One’s newest school, Dorothy Hall Elementary School, home of the Innovators! We are in the southeast region of Yuma, Arizona, and are excited to begin the educational journey with your child.

Please take some time to get to know our school and our staff members. We offer a wide variety of clubs and programs, and we take pride in preparing our students for success in the 21st century. Please contact us if you have any questions.

A Message from Our Principal

Happy September, Dorothy Hall Innovators and families! As many of you are aware, the growth in our school neighborhood has been tremendous over the last few months. Our neighborhood is an active construction zone, and we ask that you please respect the lots that are being worked on by not driving through them or using them as a parking lot.

We are thrilled to welcome more students to campus but the additional foot and car traffic requires that we address some safety concerns. Parents, we ask that you use the designated areas for drop off and pick up. The pick up and drop off lane wraps all around the school and should be the only lane used in the morning and afternoon for parents that do not wish to park. The lane in front of school is designated for our buses. Do not pull in front of school for drop off or pick up. At this time the only parents that may use the front parking lot and enter campus through the front gate are preschool parents or students in Mrs. Ortiz’s homeroom class.

For our parents that have chosen the option of parking, we ask that you be courteous and take turns with the drive through parents that are trying to exit the lane. Please use the sidewalks and do not walk students through the traffic lane. This is not a safe practice. We would greatly appreciate your cooperation.

Finally, I would ask that everyone slow down when you are in the area of the school. We have students that are walking and riding their bikes to school and we need everyone’s assistance with keeping them safe.

This month we will be focusing on responsibility. We are using this definition at school: Responsibility: to take action and understand how our choices affect others, ourselves, and the world. We encourage all families to join us with our focus on responsibility by talking about it at home as well.

We are currently under our high/substantial mitigation plan and that will remain in effect until numbers return to a low/moderate level for two consecutive weeks. I would encourage all families to check the dashboard every Thursday. Please remind your student to wash their hands often and use sanitizer when hand washing isn’t possible. If you have any questions about the mitigation plan, please call the office at 502-8300 or visit the district's Return to Learning page.

iPad Protection Plan: We are encouraging all parents to consider the iPad protection olan this year. The plan is only $30.00 and covers accidental damage to the iPad for the school year. The forms are available on our Digital Devices page and in the office. We accept cash(exact amount) or check payments at the school office. You may also pay online.
