Welcome!

A Learning Environment That Inspires Learners Through Collaboration and Discovery

We are pleased to introduce you to Yuma Elementary District One’s newest school, Dorothy Hall Elementary School, home of the Innovators! We are in the southeast region of Yuma, Arizona, and are excited to begin the educational journey with your child.

Please take some time to get to know our school and our staff members. We offer a wide variety of clubs and programs, and we take pride in preparing our students for success in the 21st century. Please contact us if you have any questions.

A Message from Our Principal

Happy fall Dorothy Hall Innovators & families! Some of you may have noticed that I’m not at school. I had urgent medical surgery at Mayo Clinic on September 15. I am currently at home recovering. You have excellent weekly visiting administrators that are current assistant principals in the district. Please do not send me messages on Dojo at this time. If you need assistance, please contact the office and they will assist you. Thank you for your understanding and support.

October 5 is the end of the first quarter. All parents have been invited to participate in a parent/teacher conference. Conferences are scheduled for October 10 through October 13 with dismissal at 1:00 p.m. Please make sure that you connect with your child’s teacher about your child’s progress. We appreciate all that you do to support your child’s goals.

This month we will be focusing on responsibility as our Character Strong trait. We encourage all families to join us with our focus on responsibility by talking about it at home as well.

Halloween is on Tuesday, October 31. Students may wear a costume to school that day. A costume of their favorite book character would be ideal! Costumes may not have blood, gore, or any weapons. If the costume has any of those elements, then please leave them at home. Dress code rules still apply so make sure there is no bare midriff.

21st Century classes are canceled October 10 through October 13 because of parent/teacher conferences. Classes will resume on October 16. All students are encouraged to participate in our “Stand Up to Bullying” spirit week.

For the color wars on Monday, October 16:

  • Preschool & Autism - Red
  • Kindergarten - Blue
  • 1st Grade - Green
  • 2nd Grade - Pink
  • 3rd Grade - Orange
  • 4th Grade - Yellow
  • 5th Grade - Purple

Sincerely,

Leeanne Lagunas
