A Learning Environment That Inspires Learners Through Collaboration and Discovery

We are pleased to introduce you to Yuma Elementary District One’s newest school, Dorothy Hall Elementary School, home of the Innovators! We are in the southeast region of Yuma, Arizona, and are excited to begin the educational journey with your child.

Please take some time to get to know our school and our staff members. We offer a wide variety of clubs and programs, and we take pride in preparing our students for success in the 21st century. Please contact us if you have any questions.

A Message from Our Principal

Happy September Dorothy Hall Innovators! As many of you are aware the growth in our school neighborhood has been tremendous over the last year. Our neighborhood continues to be an active construction zone and we ask that you please respect the lots where homes are being built by not driving through them or using them as a parking lot.

Pick Up & Drop Off: We are thrilled to welcome more students to campus but the additional foot and car traffic requires that we address some safety concerns. Parents we ask that you use the designated areas for drop off and pick up.

Drive-through Pick-up and Drop-off: The lane wraps all around the school and should be the only lane used in the morning and afternoon for parents that do not wish to park. The line-up is to wrap around the school and then wrap out onto 45th Place. Do not enter the pick-up lane from Luane Avenue. The lane in front of the school is designated for our buses. Do not pull in front of the school for drop off or pick up. The only parents that may use the front parking lot and enter campus through the front gate are preschool parents or students in our autism classrooms.

Park & Pick Up: For our parents that have chosen the option of parking we ask that you be courteous and take turns with the drive-through parents that are trying to exit the lane. Please use the sidewalks and don’t walk students through the traffic lane. This is not a safe practice. We would greatly appreciate your cooperation.

Finally, I would ask that everyone slow down when you are in the area of the school. We have students that are walking and riding their bikes to school and we need everyone’s assistance with keeping them safe. Please pay attention to the crossing guard as she is crossing students on 45th Place and Luane Avenue. We also have a crossing guard out on 6E at the crosswalk with flashers.

21st Century Classes: Classes begin on September 12! Monday afternoon session is from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. No transportation is available on Mondays. Morning sessions are from 7:15 to 8:15 a.m. and the afternoon sessions are from 3:50 to 4:50 p.m. Transportation is provided in the afternoon on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Adult art class starts soon so if you are interested or have questions about that class please email Mr. Dorame.

Character Strong: This month we will be focusing on responsibility. We are using this definition at school: Responsibility: to take action and understand how our choices affect others, ourselves, and the world. We encourage all families to join us with our focus on responsibility by talking about it at home as well.
